This document explores the intersection between artificial intelligence (AI) and contemporary art, analyzing how AI redefines creativity, authorship, and social dynamics in artistic production, as well as its ethical and aesthetic implications. It presents a critical review of the literature on the incorporation of AI in art, addressing three levels of analysis: the technical community, the art world, and cognitive sciences, to understand their interactions and effects on creativity. Tensions between human creativity and machine-generated creativity are identified, highlighting how AI can democratize access to artistic tools, but also raises challenges regarding the authenticity and value of art produced by humans versus machines. The study concludes that human-machine collaboration can enrich the artistic field, but it is essential to include diverse voices in AI development to mitigate biases and redefine concepts of creativity and authorship in a posthumanist context. © 2024, Universidad Pedagogica y Tecnologica de Colombia.
