Resumen:
Results are presented of the numerical simulation of the steam-pipeline network in Cerro Prieto geothermal field. The network is composed of two parallel nets of High-and Low-Pressure pipelines, as both the primary and secondary separation of steam occurs in the field, except for the Cerro Prieto Uno (CPU) sector with only primary steam separation. The High-Pressure net was divided into two parts. The North Block is integrated by Branches 1 and 2 of Cerro Prieto Tres (CPT), Cerro Prieto Cuatro (CPC), the wells of Cerro Prieto Dos (CPD) that send steam to Interconnection CPD-CPT, and Interconnections B and C to CPU. The South Block is composed of CPD Branches 1 and 2 and the remaining CPU wells. The Low-Pressure net was divided into three blocks: Block 1 includes 16 wells of CPC and Branch 2 of CPT; Block 2 has 17 wells from CPC, Branch 1 of CPT, and Interconnection CPD-CPT; and Block 3 includes 44 wells from CPD. The relative average differences of the measured and simulated pressures and flows for the High-Pressure net are lower than those of the Low-Pressure net. The average relative difference between measured and simulated well pressures for the High-Pressure net in the North Block varies between -3.8% and +6.6%, with average values ranging from 1.2 to 4.3%. The differences between measured and simulated pressures and flows at the delivery-reception points are under 5.2% and 1%, respectively, and the quality is over 98.5%. The average relative difference between measured and simulated well pressures for the High-Pressure net in the South Block varies between -8.2% and +4.2%, with average values between -3.7 to 2.3%. The difference between measured and simulated pressures and flows at the delivery-reception points are below ±6.41% and ±9.0%, respectively, with the quality above 96.5%. The average relative differences for the Low-Pressure net are 21.2% for Block 1, 8.0% for Block 2, and -2.8% for Block 3, if the valves of the Interconnection CPD-CPT South - and of Branch 1 of CPT to Branch 2 of CPC - are considered completely closed. Simulation of distinct scenarios with the steam flow of Interconnection CPD-CPT South to Branch 1 of CPT and to Branch 2 of CPD, adjusting the arriving pressure to the power units, indicates that relative differences between measured and simulated pressur
