A study of nanoporosity in silica gel using positron annihilation

Resumen:
Positronium Annihilation Lifetime Technique (PALT) is a proven tool for analyzing diverse properties of materials. For demonstration purposes, the use of this technique in the study of seven modified silica gel samples is discussed. It is emphasized that the PALT technique is not capable by itself to measure nanoporosity, unless one has knowledge either theoretically or experimentally of the thickness value ?R.
