Resumen:
The aim of this paper is to examine the importance, evolution and main features of the mining industry in the state of Guerrero (Mexico). The diversity of mineral resources in this state and the factors that hamper a proper development are emphasized, in the context of recent government policy and the current economic crisis of the country.
