Cisticercosis. Informe de un caso cutáneo y un caso cerebral

Resumen:
Cysticercosis is a parasitic disease related with Taenia solium. It is usually observed in urban and rural areas associated to inadequate health conditions. It can affect central nervous system and it is a public health problem in Latin America, Africa and Asia. We present a 3 year-old girl, with a single nodular lesion 12 mm in diameter on the chin. With the diagnosis of dermoid cyst the lesion was excised and histopathology performed. The second case, a 20 year-old female, student, with a two years history with severe headache with nausea and vomiting. During her hospitalization presented painful fades, anorexia and severe eye pain. She died after cardiorespiratory arrest and the autopsy revealed the presence of single cysticercus of 20 mm intracerebroventricularly expanded by the presence of the parasite.
