Resumen:
The purpose of this paper is to show the role of digital platforms in the configuration of techno-administrative capacities among restaurant entrepreneurs, specifically those in Latin America and particularly in Mexico. Based on the literature review and semi-structured interviews with Mexican restaurateurs, the way in which these technologies began to offer a ``lifeline'' to face of the confinement forced by the pandemic is documented, becoming a significant mediator that allowed not only the rapprochement between consumers and customers and even the growth of establishments but also, in a local approach to global technologies that are part of what is known as Industry 4.0, whose operation demands the development of technological and administrative capacities different from those that many entrepreneurs in the sector had.
