Bismuth plasmonics in the visible spectrum using texturized films

Resumen:
The plasmonic response of systems formed by thin Bismuth films deposited on texturized substrates of porous anodic alumina denominated Bismuth metafilms was investigated. In reflectance measurements we observed dips in the range of ~ 300–1300 nm of the electromagnetic spectrum associated to plasmonic resonances. We found that varying the geometric parameters of Bismuth metafilms it is possible to adjust the plasmonic resonance at certain wavelengths. In accordance to the obtained results, we propose Bismuth metafilms as candidate for plasmonic material in the near-UV-Vis-NIR range of the electromagnetic spectrum; far to the zone where a Drude-like behavior occurs. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.
