Resumen:
This article offers a critical analysis of what is happening in Mexico with regard to the socio-cultural production process of higher education students as consumers, within the frame of the commodification of higher education. Making use of the results of the 2008-2009 National Higher Education Students Survey (Encuesta Nacional de Alumnos de Educación Superior, ENAES) the author shows the answers given by the undergraduate students to the questions that regulate the total quality and market research proposals. Throughout the text the author compares statistical data and distinguishes the institutions according to their funding regime.
