Resumen:
This is a case study of a couple from a working class neighborhood in Mexico City/MX that has been married for 58 years and has 14 children. After therapeutic work of more than a year from the perspective of Feminist Family Therapy, an analysis of fluctuations in concentrations of power in the couple throughout the family's life cycle are analyzed in three stages. The analysis is articulated with a theoretical reflection on the life cycle of the family, gender, and power. It concludes with the importance to review, during the therapeutic process in old age, gender roles and distribution of power to bring unresolved conflicts to the surface, and offer the possibility of finding a solution.
