Resumen:
Eysenhardtia officinalis (Leguminosae, Papilionoideae), a new species from Mexico, is described and illustrated. This species appears similar to E. polystachya (Ortega) Sargent and E. texana Scheele, but differs in the number and morphology of the leaflets, the longer inflorescences, the flower and fruit morphology, and in altitudinal distribution. A table for comparing related taxa is also provided.
