Resumen:
Pleuritis is the acute or chronic inflammation of the pleura. From an anatomical point of view, it is characterized by congestion and swelling of the pleura. Clinically, it is distinguished by an attack on the general state, fever, pleural pain, dyspnea, hacking cough, and pleural effusion. Pneumonitis is the inflammation of the pulmonary parenchyma and it is characterized by progressive dyspnea and cough, which can be dry or accompanied by expectoration or rales. We present the case of a patient that had pleuritis and pneumonitis after the rupture of a breast implant, with silicone output to the subcutaneous space.
