Lossy effects in a nonlinear nematic optical fiber

Resumen:
A study of lossy effects in a nonlinear nematic optical fiber was performed. A generalized nonlinear Schrodinger equation (GNLS) was derived using multiple scale method for the analysis. The penetration length estimation was also analyzed for the soliton-like solution of GNLS equation. It was found that the penetration length of the optical solitons decreased for each propagating mode.
