Trimetallic NiMoW unsupported catalysts for HDS

Resumen:
The preparation of trimetallic NiMoW sulfides derived from the impregnation of bimetallic ammonium thio-molybdate-tungstate (ATMW) salts, that are further decomposed both ex situ and in situ was discussed. The bimetallic ATMW complexes were obtained from ammonium heptamolybdate and ammonium metatungstate in contact with flowing H2 gas during 4 hours. Two reference catalysts were prepared where one of them was synthesized by combining ATM and ATT and the second was mixed with commercial thiosalts. The results showed that the optimal distribution and composition in the precursor obtained by controlling the reactions occurring during the preparation steps yielded a very active catalysts.
