Resumen:
This is a revision of the bibliography related to the neurophysiological aspects of schizophrenia observed by means of the recent methods of exploration of the brain electrical activity, such as brain mapping and long latency, or the so called cognitive evoked potentials. The neurophysiological findings are correlated with data from other methods of exploration of the Central Nervous System, such as those that deal with the macroscopical and microscopical structure of the brain and with its chemistry and metabolism. The different hypothesis suggested for understanding the factors related to the genesis of schizophrenia, such as the genetic, the neurodevelopmental, the neuropharmacologycal and the histochemical, are discussed.
