Resumen:
We investigate the properties of the line, say the x-axis, at which two or more interfaces meet, and derive an exact expression for its excess free energy in terms of the gradients of the densities ?{variant}a = ?{variant}a(y,z) and the direct correlation function C(2) ab(|x-x'|; y, y'; z, z'). We evaluate the line tension ? in mean field and for various surface enhancements g at vanishing substrate field h1, and include the interesting case when the line inhomogeneity persists beyond bulk criticality. The critical index for ? is determined for different surface criticalities. © 1992.
