Resumen:
The quasicrystalline phases formed in quaternary alloys of AlCuCoFe were studied. The alloys were fabricated using the gravity chill-casting technique and wedge-shaped copper moulds. The phases present in these quaternary alloys show the coexistence of icosahedral and decagonal phases with some compounds of intermetallic nature. Microstructural characterizations based on optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were carried out. Electron and X-ray diffraction studies revealed two different types of quasicrystalline phase. © 1994.
