Resumen:
Bolívar Echeverría seeks to capture the concept of praxis in its concrete historical dimension. If this concept is inextricably linked to the (autonomous) subject that decides freely, how can it be conceived as something historically determined and concrete? How can this constellation of specific subjective decisions be theoretically reconstructed based on specific historical conceptual determinations that necessarily seek the universal? How can a certain cultural determination of human, productive and consummative praxis be conceived without falling into ethnologizing, biologistic simplifications? Echeverria envisions this relationship between freedom and tradition, individuality and collectivity in human language and the science that examines it: semiotics (Saussure, Jakobson, Hjelsmlev). © 2015 Universidad del Zulia.
